A new addition to the Seniors circuit, the Irish Seniors Close was played for the first time in 2009 when it was won by Maurice Kelly (Killeen).
Kelly went on to a second success in 2010 at Blainroe, while Garth McGimpsey (Bangor) won in 2011 and 2012.
