European Tour Professional, Shane Lowry was in attendance today at the GUI Leinster Branch Offices, Carton House, Maynooth, Co. Kildare for the launch of an exciting new development that will provide online High Performance support for members of Leinster Coaching panels.
With 270 boys and youths involved in the Leinster Elite Golf Coaching Programme, this new online facility will allow players interact more effectively with their Provincial Coaches and Coaching team. The Website will provide information exclusively for Leinster panellists in such areas as Golfing Technique, Practice Procedures as well as Fitness, Psychology, Nutrition and more. The development is a first for the Leinster Branch and a Smartphone application has also been included for IPhone and Android. Aligning the style of the website to the way that teenagers use the internet to communicate with one another was vital. To appeal to this generation the website needed to trigger a range of expectations in terms of its quality, its ease of use, its dynamic attributes and its multitasking functionality that taps into the same ways that they currently communicate. Access to the website and apps will be by the players GOLFnet number when it goes live in the coming weeks on www.leinsterelitegolf.com
Recently crowned Irish Open Amateur Champion, Gavin Moynihan (The Island) has been part of the Leinster Coaching Programme since 2006 will welcome this new initiative to assist in his overall High Performance training.
In conjunction with this development, the Leinster Branch unveiled its new branding for Leinster Golf in advance of its Centenary Celebrations which takes place in 2013. A logo for the Leinster Elite Golf brand has also been designed which carries a close association with the Leinster Golf brand. The development of an effective brand for Leinster Elite Golf develops a more inclusive relationship with this audience, giving them a sense of belonging and participation, and motivating them to develop their golf education further.
Commenting on the development, Chairman of the Leinster Branch, Kevin McIntyre said “We are confident that we have built an essential online facility of communication and coaching support system for our Elite golfers and that Leinster and Irish golf will benefit in the long term. The re-branding of our Leinster Golf and Leinster Elite Golf logos will increase the profile and strengthen the brand awareness of Leinster Golf”.
