CONDITIONS:
1.Entrants must be under 18 years of age at 00.00 hours on 1st January in the year of the Championship.
2.Entries must be made on-line through GUI website www.gui.ie/munster
3.a) The number of competitors shall be decided from time to time by the Provincial Council, but shall not exceed a maximum of 150 competitors. A ballot for places will, if necessary, be held amongst the highest exact handicap competitors immediately after closing date. Entrance fees will be refunded to those balloted out who do not compete. At the conclusion of the 36 holes stroke qualifying rounds, the 51 competitors who return the lowest gross scores over the 36 holes shall qualify for final 36 holes. Players tieing for 51st place will be decided as set out in breaking of ties GUI Tournament Conditions booklet.
b) If there is a tie for the Championship, the competitors concerned will immediately play a stipulated three holes by stroke play. If still tied, will play sudden death starting at the first hole of the stipulated three holes. Other ties will be decided as set out in the GUI Tournament Conditions Booklet.
4.Players shall commence play at the time laid down by the Championship Committee (Rule 6-3).
5.The Housing Club reserves the right to define the times when competitors may practice on the course.
6.The Championship Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry and may call for the production of a certificate of birth of any competitor before or during the Championship.
7.No person whose age exceeds the age limit for this Championship may act as caddie (Penalty 2 strokes at each hole the infringement occurs, to a maximum of four shots). That any further breach will lead to the disqualification of the player(s).

9.The winner of the Championship will receive a perpetual Trophy and a prize and he shall return the Trophy in time for the following year’s Championship to the Executive Officer, GUI Munster Branch. Prizes will also be awarded to the runner-up, third and fourth place. Two prizes will be awarded to the boys who are under sixteen (16) years of age on 1st January with best gross score. All prizes will be awarded on the basis of 1 player – 1 prize.
10.A general pace of play condition will be implemented whereby 60 seconds will be the time allotted for addressing and hitting the ball once it is the players turn to play. Following two warnings of
breach, the penalty will be 2 strokes.
11.Order of play: Day prior to Championship – Practice Day. Day 1 – first qualifying round of 18 holes. Day 2 – second qualifying round of 18 holes with 51 to qualify for a further 36 holes on final Day 3.
12.At the discretion of the Junior Committee of the Munster Branch, up to 5 players may be invited to play who may not have qualified under handicap cut off point, but who must have entered the Championship.
13.If a competitor fails to show at the tee without notification, entry may be refused the following year at the discretion of the Provincial Council.
14.Penalty for breach of Rule 1 & 8 shall be disqualification.
