CONDITIONS
1.The Cup shall be called the Munster Boys Under 17 Amateur Close Championship.
2.The Championship shall be under the control of the Munster Branch of the Golfing Union of Ireland.
3.The Provincial Council of the Branch shall appoint a Championship Committee which shall be responsible for the organisation and management of the Championship and its decision shall be final on all matters relating thereto including acceptance of entries.
4.Each Competitor must be
(a)a member of a Munster Club affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland
(b)under 17 years of age on 1st January in the year of the Championship
(c)in possession of a CONGU handicap
5.Entries must be made on-line through GUI website www.gui.ie/munster
6.Entries may be limited from time to time by the Championship Committee.
7.Entrance fees will not be refunded unless intimation of scratching is received before the closing time and date for entries.
8.The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry without stating any reason for so doing and may call for a production of a certificate of birth of any competitor.
9.The Championship will be decided by one round of 18 holes medal play.
10.The Championship shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf & Amateur Status as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and in accordance with the Local Rules of the club over whose course the Championship is played.
11.Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places.
12.Ties will be decided as set out in the GUI Tournament Conditions Booklet.
13.No person whose age exceeds the age limit for the Championship may act as caddie (Penalty – 2 strokes for each hole at which infringement occurs, to a maximum of 4 strokes) Any further breach will lead to the disqualification of the player.
14.No Professional golfer may act as caddie.
15.A general pace of play condition will be implemented whereby 60 seconds will be the time allotted for addressing and hitting the ball once it is the player’s turn to play.   Following two warnings of breach, the penalty will be two shots.
16.The penalty for breach of Rules 4 & 14 shall be disqualification of the player.
