National Golf Conference

A significant research exercise to assess and determine the state of the golf industry in Ireland is being undertaken by FGS Partnership and Carr Golf Services. The findings of the research will be presented at a National Golf Conference which is to be held in October of this year, during which industry experts will provide an insight into steps clubs can take to deal with any issues which may be affecting them.

The results will be delivered on a regional basis rather than taking the island as a whole which will allow clubs to benchmark their performance against others in the same province. The Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI), Irish Ladies Golf Union (ILGU), Department of Tourism, Culture & Sport and Failte Ireland are endorsing and supporting both the conference and associated research.

The research validity and value is dependent on the participation of all clubs. Club participation is essential to properly identify and analyse the key trends in the domestic industry and to enable the entire industry to understand and address the challenges we are facing. In addition to identifying the current market conditions within the industry, the research findings will help establish meaningful solutions.

Provision of this information will enable your club to assess its performance and operating efficiencies against the industry and help you gain a better understanding of the market which in turn should assist you in managing the challenging conditions that currently exist.  The results of the survey will allow all industry stakeholders to develop strategies which will facilitate a return to growth as quickly as possible.

Each golf club has been sent information on how to complete the survey. Please ensure your club has participated.
