The team to represent Ireland in the Home Internationals at Ashburnham Golf Club on 11th - 13th August 2010 is:

Irish Close Champion Dara Lernihan and Irish Amateur Open Champion Alan Dunbar lead the Irish team for the forthcoming Home Internationals.

Also included in the team is Kevin Phelan who is originally from Waterford but now resides in the USA. Phelan, who turns 20 in November has just completed his Freshman year at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville where he is majoring in Business Management.

Phelan made headlines around the world when he qualified as an amateur for the 2010 US Open Championship at Pebble Beach, shooting rounds 73 and 65 to make the field.

He has enjoyed a total of three top five and eight top ten finishes in his first season at college and in 2009 reached the semi finals of the Florida State Amateur Match Play.

Phelan will make his international debut for Ireland at the Home Internationals alongside another debutant, Barry Anderson (Co. Sligo).

Anderson, who won the Connacht Youths Championship earlier this year, also enjoyed a top four finish in the Irish Youths Championship at Dun Laoghaire earlier this month.

Ireland will be looking to win back the coveted Raymond Trophy last won at Muirfield in 2008.
