Order of Merit Awards

There are four Order of Merit Awards given out every year. Points are awarded in each for different competitions.
Willie Gill Award
Open to all golfers, the Willie Gill Award covers the Irish Amateur Open, Irish Close and the four provincial championships, the West, East, North and South of Ireland Championships.
Points are awarded to players based on their finishing place in each.
The 2010 winner was Alan Dunbar (Rathmore) who won by a margin of 35 points.
Joe Carr Award
The Youths Order of Merit winner is presented with the Joe Carr Award and is based on performances in the Irish Youths and the four provincial youths' championships.
Richard O'Donovan (Lucan) won the Joe Carr Award in 2010 by a margin of 30 points.
Tom Montgomery Award
For the Boys events, the winner of the Tom Montgomery Award is the boy who has most points collected from the Irish Boys and the four provincial boys championships.
Jack Hume (Rathsallagh) took the award for boys in 2010 by a 95 points margin, winning all four Provincial Championships.
Michael Hennelly Award
The Seniors (over 55's) compete for this annually with points awarded for the Irish Seniors, Irish Seniors Close and the four provincial seniors championships.
Maurice Kelly (Killeen) won the Michael Hennelly Award in 2010 by a staggering 120 points.
